So the Snowpocalypse arrived at 11pm Friday night and we woke to a 5 inch blanket of thick, wet snow. Bill muscled the snowblower through it all just in time for the freezing rain to hit.  Brrr. Today we woke to flurries but I don’t think we’ll get any more accumulation. Coffee, hot chocolate? Come on in and warm up.

How was your week?

It was busy as usual at work and though we are not really snowed in, we spent Saturday around the house just to avoid driving in the mess and letting the plows do their thing. I have an approaching deadline on one particular project a work and have finally received the information we were waiting on to really dig in and get some work done, so I’ll tackle that today too. We are off for the MLK holiday tomorrow, but I’ll probably still spend some time working.

I never got to my Shutterfly calendar order so I should also get around to that too, before the coupon expires. Ugh! The week just got away from me.

My highlight was Friday when I found some of my long lost cousins on Facebook! They have a family tree started on Ancestry.com and a family Facebook group and I got to view and also contribute some photos and information.  I knew I had family out there somewhere as my Dad had 8 cousins. Very cool!

Now I’m poring through photos trying to find those that are relevant to my Dad’s side of the family. I realized just how many photos I have in boxes and envelopes, not even in albums. And there are some I know I am missing. How do you preserve your family photos? Do you have a system in which you scan prints to keep an e-copy for safe keeping? And print your digital copies for the same reason?  My scanner has gotten its workout in the last 24 hours as I’m eager to share what I have with my newly found cousinhood.

One thing I will do today is venture out to replace our Roku box – it’s the first generation and has started blipping out, mid-show.  Ugh! I downloaded the Travel Channel Go app and have been poring through ghost hunting shows, but the box is not cooperating.

Well, I must get moving!  Come visit our coffee share host, Eclectic Alli, and tell us about your week!

  1. That’s so great about your cousins! As for me, the snow ruined our weekend—we travelled a long way by train to see a comedian and they canceled the show an hour before it was supposed to start because of the snow! Oh well😊
