brewing coffee

Good Morning on this cloudy Sunday! I’m surprised it’s still dry as I pour my first cup – the rain was supposed to come last night and linger until Monday morning. Let’s grab a chair on the patio..

(Door opens..)

If you brought a ski parka!  OMG!   How about the dining room? Why did I think it was still summer?

If we were having coffee, I’d tell you about two firsts this week – an office field trip to the Detroit Historical Museum and a ride on the QLine, a relatively new streetcar system that opened in Detroit.  We walked to the closest QLine station and rode the train to the museum. It’s kind of slow, so I wouldn’t recommend it if you’re in a hurry, but it was an experience and the museum was really cool.

If we were having coffee, I’d tell you that after dinner this past week, Bill suggested that we stop at Spirit of Halloween. (Squeeeeeee!!!!  He knows what I love.. )  Unfortunately, we missed it by about ten minutes and the store was closed.   In the same strip mall was a Dollar Tree so we stopped to see of they had that Awesome cleaner that I’ve been hearing about on the RV forums. Supposedly it works wonders on awnings and much more.

Halloween at the dollar store did not disappoint! they had lots of stuff out and I fell in love with these skeleton tongs!

I ended up with three glow in the dark skeletons and two scarves, perfect for October casual Fridays.

If we were having coffee, I’d tell you that I received a new laptop at work on Thursday morning. Has it been two years?  I feel like I just got my last one. This will be my 3rd in the five years I’ve been with the company.  So refreshing to work where they’re on top of our IT needs, not like in the past where we scrambled to keep things patched together and running.  For this I’m grateful!

Yesterday I trimmed back our out of control forsythia bushes while Bill washed the snowmobiles and trailer.  He also worked on one of the bushings on my left ski, and adjusted both skis. Hopefully this will improve the steering when we head out this season.

So what to do on this rainy day?  Probably just indoor maintenance – cleaning, laundry, I also want to spend some time going through stuff and adding to my donate pile. We’ll also head out and visit with my mom-in-law a bit today. And I’ve love to get some reading in. My latest is Unbury Carol by Josh Malerman and it’s getting really good!

How was your week?  More coffee?

Grab a beverage and join us over at Eclectic Ali’s for the #WeekendCoffeeShare!

  1. Thank you so much for the coffee! So jealous of your snowmobiles! I haven’t had one in years. I actually have a snowmobile license. lol. (You need a license to ride on high speed trails in Sweden.) i’m slightly jealous of your fall. It was 104 in Las Vegas today.
