Good Morning! We have ONE WEEK left of February! Crazy times.. Exactly one more month until the first day of spring. I’m excited and sad. Excited for warmer weather, fresh air through open windows, yard cleanup, more time outside, starting my seeds. Sad because we went snowmobiling ONE TIME (just like last year) and the weather is not looking good for another riding weekend. Fingers are crossed that northern Michigan holds out.
Today is the day for the fundraiser that the Monroe Midnight Riders are co-hosting. I have my costume together, but this is a work in progress. With a nod to our land out west, I have chosen the persona of a prairie hearth witch, named Moondance. And, not gonna lie, ChatGPT has been a HUUUUGE help to this girl with NO imagination or creativity.
Here I am, so far.

“Good evening, travelers. I am Moondance — the Prairie Hearth Witch.
I come from wide skies and long winds. I keep a flame for the land and the people who walk it.
Tonight’s dance is for the old grasses… the turning moon…and every hearth that still burns in this world.
If you feel the rhythm under your feet — that’s the prairie remembering you.”

We won’t be dancing today, just milling around helping at the fundraiser. Our first dance performance is at Halfway to Halloween, in early May, and we are also doing Witch Dance United on April 30th, which should be fun.

I’ll spend the afternoon probably tweaking my costume and makeup, and studying the persona that ChatGPT (whom Bill and I now lovingly refer to as Chad) has built for me.

In other news, I’m in the market for an L-shaped desk to provide more room for everything I involve myself in (in addition to a home office for work, reading, blogging, working on my project management certificate). For right now I added a table in my office as a temporary solution, but I have my eye on something like this from Office Max.

Larry enjoys my current setup now as my table is right under a window, so he has room to spread out and survey the neighborhood while I work. This week I was able to grab a pic of him sprawled out on my office rug, where he appears to be doing a backflip over the moon.

Welp, lots to do before I embark on this next adventure. Thank you for stopping by and I’ll be by shortly to see what you’ve all been up to.
