What a weekend. Saturday night there was a water main break two doors down from me that took our DPW over 3 hours to shut off. By then, my entire front and back yard was flooded. Luckily my house is on a crawlspace, but the laundry room is on slab, which flooded pretty significantly. With the temps in the teens, it soon froze, and three sides of my house is now encased in ice.
Here is a slide show of our adventure.
However:
- I’m grateful for everyone that worked out in the frigid cold for hours to get the break fixed.
- I’m grateful to have clean, running water and a working toilet again. (the things we take for granted! OMG)
- I’m grateful that the flood didn’t impact our boiler, as the temperature won’t even reach 32 F for the next several weeks. I can’t imagine no heat or having to deal with a boiler repair.
What are you grateful for today?
