Good Morning, dear friend! Help yourself to a beverage. I wish it were warm enough to sit outside, it’s supposed to reach 60 today. I’m hoping the rain holds off long enough to put my new plants into their new pots later on.

If we were having coffee, I’d tell you what a fun weekend its been so far. Friday we reached 75 degrees! Bill surprised me at work with texted pics of the camper with the cover removed – he’d done it by himself when I thought it was at least a two person job.

Torn between wanting to ride to dinner and spend time getting re-acquainted with the camper – we decided to go for a ride. My head is exploding with excitement at this point.

Motorcycles!

Because rain was in the forecast, we opted for the Deadwood, which is right along the route we usually take for short rides, Hines drive. It was sooo nice to be out on the bikes again on this warm sunny day. My heartbreak over the end of snowmobile season is starting to heal. We ended the evening just as I’d hoped (we had rain in the forecast!) with a backyard campfire. And a beverage.

Campfire and Bud Light

Saturday we ran errands and ended up taking a short road trip out to Tractor Supply in Whitmore Lake. I LOVE visiting this store, it’s like getting away from civilization for a while. The smell of feed, the cowboy hats, John Deere and Carhartt apparel and today they had chicks!

OMG.

I found several other items – the new plants I’d mentioned earlier! Last year I planted blackberry, blueberry and raspberry bushes, and only the blackberry survived. I bought these four plants and I look forward to putting them in pots, just to get them started.

I also found the herb seeds I wanted, and this cool greenhouse contraption.  Wish me luck!

Bill also found a hitch for the riding lawnmower, so we’ll be able to easily move the sled trailer back into it’s summer resting place.

On the way back, we drove through Bruin Lake Campground, which was closed for the season, as I’d heard they’d done some improvements. It looked like they added some cement pads to some of the sites near the lake. We haven’t been to Bruin in a very long time, I’d almost forgotten about it. I’m sure reservations are in our future. (rubbing hands together)

Really wishing it wasn’t going to rain, I’ve been so looking forward to getting outside. I love thunderstorms, but not today!

How are YOU, my friend?  What’s new in your world?

  1. Snowmobile season is winding down here too. The Viking didn’t get out last winter, he was just too busy. :o( However, he’ll get the Goldwing ready for summer and we’ll spend some time with our fifth wheel and Seadoos. That should make up for some of his disappointment.

Sounds like you had a lovely ride, probably just the first of many more. :o)
