Good Morning! Come on in make yourself comfy! It’s a beautiful late summer morning, breezy and a bit cool. I love these mornings on the patio. Grab yourself a coffee and let’s catch up!
This week will be in the 70s and I’m sad to see summer go but so excited for the fall season. I’m one of those people who could happily leave their Halloweens decorations up year round. 😊 Last night was PERFECT. We sat around the fire and I burned much of the dried up clippings from my spent tiger lilies. Bill watched wrestling on his phone for a bit and then we surfed Spotify together using my Bluetooth speaker. Bill isn’t as huge of a fan of campfires as I am so it was nice having him with me for the duration.

I got pic of my huge beloved maple tree in night vision mode.

I’ve gotten so many pool days in this year and for that I’m so grateful. This year we (Bill) put up a gazebo and I’ve spent many a summer evening under it.

The forecast isn’t showing many more hot days however, so we may need to shift to hot tub usage, which doesn’t break my heart. 🙂 We have an inflatable Coleman hot tub which sprung an air leak. Bill is out there as we speak trying to fix it. He did say, however, that if the hot tub is not repairable, we can use the pump and heating unit for the pool. He amazes me.
Work is going well, I’m actually wrapping up a project soon where most of the pieces have fallen into place, which is always nice! And I’m on it with a co-worker whom I’m friends with outside of work, which is an added bonus! Projects aren’t always this low stress so I will give thanks for the ones that are.
Today I’m excited for another paddle trip! We are visiting Bruin, Blind and Half Moon lakes. We aren’t starting until 4pm so we’ll get to see the sunset and if dark enough by the time we return, I can play with the lights Bill got me for Christmas. They are the standard clip on red and green lights that all watercraft need to have after dark. I don’t paddle after dark much but I should have them.
Sunday we are headed to Cruisin Hines, a classic car cruise in Hines Park. Hines is a really nice parkway that connects Dearborn to Northville, about 17 miles. We haven’t gone in a few years. Hines is a natural floodplain so it floods every time we get a good rain. Last year the ground was too wet and soft and parking all those cars would have destroyed the grassy areas. Bummer because lots of work goes to put this on. Tomorrow is supposed to be 76 and mostly sunny. Great day for a car show and a great way to end the weekend. I’ve always been a victim of Sunday Blues so planning something fun on the last day is a nice way to end on a positive note.
How was your week? Thanks for stopping by and thank you Natalie for hosting the Weekend Coffee Share.

Your backyard with the pool and gazebo looks so inviting! Thank you for having me over for coffee. This is indeed a wonderful season.
I’m happy that I love fall just as much as summer. It’s always nice to have something to look forward to.
That big maple tree must look beautiful in the Fall when the leaves change colours. I hope you have a fun paddle trip and car cruise. Thank you for your weekend coffee share.
I love it so much. I’m guessing it was planted when my house was built, 85 years ago. The leaves turn yellow. I LOVE the leaves that turn a brilliant red in the fall.
What a gorgeous space you have for leaning into rest and relaxation! We’ve been toying with the idea of an inflatable hot tub…you’ve re0inspired the thought! Thank you! Your Maple is gorgeous! I hope her changing leaves bring you endless joy! Have a lovely week ahead!
Hi Melissa! Thank you for visiting! I’m looking forward to using the tub more now that our 90 degree weather has left us.. I treasure our trees.. I’ve always had a love and fascination for large, old trees.. the history.. ❤️ have a wonderful week!
Lovely relaxing space and a magical campfire! That’s picture perfect!! Have a great time at your outings!
