#WeekendCoffeeShare: Fall Projects!

Good Morning and come on in!  Make yourself comfy. Kind of a cloudy dreary day here in Metro Detroit – it’s a good day to get started on some Fall projects.

I’ve been dying to paint my kitchen and today is the day. Last night I taped off everything and today I’m getting started.  The walls will be a light gray and the cabinets will be painted a darker gray with all new hardware. Then phase two will be new butcher block countertop and some kind of wood, varnished backsplash.  I’m excited to get started. I will share before and after pictures if it’s a success.  LOL  I ordered some cool new wall art from Etsy (digital downloads) so I’m putting a photo order in today too.

How was your week?  Wednesday for the full moon I went on a night hike with a friend. So happy we have several parks open until 10pm and not dusk. I’m looking forward to doing more of that this season.  Monday was in the 60s so I took the opportunity to put water sealant on my cedar gazebo in the back yard. That went quicker than I thought it would, but we still finished in the dark. We are supposed to get a dusting of snow Sunday into Monday! I still need to cut down the remaining plants in the garden and get ready for winter.  Sounds like a weekend To Do list is in order. I have to do this to keep myself on track.

I’ll leave you with this sweet shot of my dear Larry as he drifted off to kitty dreamland last night.

Natalie is on hiatus this week for hosting, but if you’re here anyway, thank you for stopping by!   Have a great week!

    • Thank you! I got it done last Saturday night. The cabinets will be a dark grey, I chose a color called Iron Ore. Fitting, since we just remembered the loss of the Edmund Fitzgerald this week, a freighter that was lost on November 10, 1975 on Lake Superior.. She was carrying 26k tons of iron ore. I’ll share a photo this week.

    • Thank you! I’m really happy with it.. Still need to paint the cabinets and replace the countertop and backsplash, but’s going in phases nicely.

  1. OOOHHH! I can’t wait to see your kitchen! You will share photos, won’t you? We painted a kitchen green once… It was an interesting choice but it wasn’t *horrible 😉 I hope you’re happy with how it came out!
How fun to take a night hike on the full moon! I bet the views and shadows were glorious!

    • I will! I love doing before and after pictures, so I took a bunch before. I know, I’m so happy to have these parks that don’t close at dusk! I love to hike at night.
