Good Morning! How are you all? I’ve missed you. Thanksgiving week was a blur – my sister was visiting from Florida so I took the week off to visit and take her sightseeing. Much has happened! Let me pour you a cup and let’s settle in on this gray December morning.

Before the holidays were in full swing, we were treated to the most amazing sunset! My phone really didn’t capture it – the clouds were a neon pink! Bill got out his drone and got some footage of this gorgeous display above the trees and power lines.
My sister and I spent the week visiting thrift shops, book stores, craft malls and coffee shops!
One of the highlights of Thanksgiving was making my mom’s apple pie recipe with my sister. I got the recipe from my oldest sister, who had it memorized! She texted me the recipe. I don’t believe it was ever written down, my mom always just went by memory. It turn out really well and I plan to write it down with as many memories as I can gather from my siblings, to pass it down to my nieces and nephew. We also got a picture of us with my mom’s turkey platter, as we do every year. Hopefully we can get all four sisters in the shot one year – we were missing my sister Rose.
We went to my other sister’s for Thanksgiving Day and made more memories.. Thankfully this was before the 6″ of snow fell.
Friday I hosted my in-laws and Bill made our annual Thanksgiving Burnout Pumpkin pie! This year’s was brought to you by a 2023 Alfa Romeo Tonale!

Last night was Krampusnacht and I hoodwinked Bill into going to Krampusmrkt, at the Ypsilanti Freight house! It was packed and I had to park in the same location as the All Hallows Eve event – on a side street and then dip through a hole in the fence, cross the railroad tracks to the freight house.
This is the same house I grabbed a pic of that was all lit up for Halloween!

The freight house was jammed with people! I was so happy for the vendors though, what a great turnout!
I got Larry a new catnip toy, some bookmarks from Smudge the Magic Cat and some creepy Christmas wall art from Drawn to Dread!
Upon leaving we heard a train whistle and saw the gates go down. We got to witness an Amtrak train fly by!
We also celebrated Bill’s birthday he celebrated by installing a new dishwasher! God bless this man. He can’t stand it when something is broken or doesn’t work properly. I gave him an out to push it to this weekend instead, but nope, off to Menard’s he went and got a new one.

On the work front, things are tame and for that I give thanks! It’s a happy medium stream of work right now and just perfect as we work to close out 2025. Unreal that we have 25 days left! Also! I delivered my very first Toastmasters speech on Wednesday! I’ll share it in another post.
I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving if you’re here in the US and all is well on your sides of the world. I look forward to coming around and catching up with you and yours!
Thank you Natalie, always for hosting our Weekend Coffee Share!

Wow! You have been very busy with fun stuff! I love how you manage to see several of your family members over Thanksgiving and also managed to make sure some of your moms traditions lives on. The activities you and your sister choose for her visit seem like so much fun.

Thank you for always reading and commenting! My apologies for the delayed response. Loving the new dishwasher, I didn’t realize how the older one was failing until we got a new one. Spooky holidays are my jam.. <3
ooh speaking of dishes made from memory, I had this really good chicken dish at my aunt’s house a couple of weeks ago. It was really good and the thing is it’s a recipe one can’t find online because it’s very specific to the region she grew up in. She just did it by feeling. This chicken dish was very popular and even got approval from my mom who everyone looks up to as a very talented cook. *sigh* I guess I have to test and experiment and document measurements to figure out that chicken dish.
Oh how awesome! Can you ask your aunt for the recipe? My apologies for the delay in responding..
