Good Morning! Thanks for stopping by! How about a cup on patio? It’s a bit chilly and overcast but we can light a fire. Make yourself comfy!
How was your week? We’ve for sure had better. I’m still in disbelief over the loss of Charlie Kirk, his grieving family and of course not forgetting the tragedy of 9/11 that shattered our world 24 years ago. It makes you hug your loved ones a little tighter and look for ways to do better as humans as we navigate this world. It’s hard to find words. Godspeed.
On a bit of a brighter note, we’ve enjoyed these summer nights as the temps start to drop and the breeze flutters in through open windows as the crickets sing. It’s my second favorite time of year and it makes letting go of summer a bit easier. Larry isn’t quite the lap cat but will curl up next to my legs on the couch on these chilly nights.

On Thursday night we went out in the front yard to catch a glimpse of the International Space Station. When I took a pic, I noticed the image of Robert Smith from The Cure in my silver maple tree!

I put up a new shelf over my Keurig and I LOVE it. It holds all my spooky coffee accessories which will honestly probably stay up year round.

Another project I have in the works is a wreath my sister sent me, with several bags of adornments. She and my oldest sister definitely got my mom’s crafty gene. I’ll try my hand at placing some of these items on the wreath before the hot glue gun comes out. I have the perfect spot for it.

Warm weather this weekend and into next! Today we are supposed to have isolated thunderstorms but tomorrow is supposed to be gorgeous. We will be in the 80s into next week as well. I was wondering if this was our Indian summer, but I learned that is typically October into November and occurs after the first frost.
Frost. Ugh. I don’t want to think about it. My garden did SO MUCH BETTER this year since I moved it to a sunnier spot. I was able to harvest the seeds from my hungarian wax and jalapeno peppers so I can start the seeds of the sixth generation in the spring! It’s been a neat experiment.
I have a south facing window that gets a ton of sun and I’m looking at shelving that will take up the entire window, possibly hanging shelving, although I can see Larry totally annihilating it. We’ll see. I have pots I want to bring in to overwinter so I’ll need a place for them.
I’ll make a point to get all my work done today and have Sunday Funday tomorrow. I hope to get out on the water and maybe catch the sunset. All the Halloween décor needs to come out as well. I’m late! I’m usually doing this September 1st. What I need to do is lay it all out and see what I want to donate to make room for what I buy every season. I’m trying to find balance. LOL
Also! I have four new pen pals! From Georgia, Ohio, New Mexico and the United Kingdom! It’s been fun, haven’t done this in years. Fun mail is the best, I’m rediscovering the joy of getting an actual LETTER in the mail that isn’t a bill or advertisement. And, do you know that the US Post Office now has Goodnight Moon forever stamps! This was my favorite book as a child.

Welp, that’s about it in my world. I’ll try to do my best time management today to knock as much as I can off my list so tomorrow I can play. How about you? How was your week?
Thank you, Natalie for hosting our Weekend Coffee Share!

The face in the tree is wild!
I like your coffee setup.
Haha! I couldn’t believe it! It looks just like him! LOL Thank you, I’m really happy with the shelf. It’s just what I was picturing.
It sounds like you had a great week in your corner of the world (choosing to not count all the ongoing grief in the world). I am so happy to read about your successes in the garden, so many small victories. I hope you’re enjoying a beautiful new week to come!
Thank you Maria! I do have so much to be happy about.. Lots of things going on this week too..
Oh fun mail is the best! I take part in a Card Chain Challenge each month; we each make our own cards and mail it to the person that signed up ahead of us on the list. It’s so much fun and gets me to really make sure I’m using all those crafting products I keep buying. I hope you manage to get out on the water today. We’re supposed to have weather in the 80’s this coming week too and I’m pretty excited about that.
Hi Joanne! Thank you for stopping by! A card chain sounds so cool! I try to make my letters creative but that sounds super creative! I’m glad you’ll have summer weather as well! I’m going to savor each day.
So glad your back Leener❤️ For a while I was writing notes back and forth with a former neighbor in our florida park and I loved when I saw a letter had come from Lois. Love seeing what you and billy are up to hope you guys stay well and have a great fall
Petunia! Thank you so much for being a loyal reader over the years! It’s a fun way to summarize the week and look back on things. It actually kind of forces me to think, “what DID I do this past week?” LOL I love storing the memories to revisit later. Hope you and Pork are well. GOTTA get up and see you guys again. Thanks for coming by for coffee!
Your coffee station looks inviting. How fun to have four new pen pals. Thank you for your weekend coffee share.
