Good Morning!
This week’s coffee share is on location in Thompsonville, Michigan! We arrived last night at one of our favorite places to stay, the Mountain Valley Lodge and Campground. Riding conditions appear to be very good and I can’t wait to get out there. We are the only sled trailer here, I’m surprised but happy to have it not be super crowded, like other popular places in northern Michigan.
How was your week, your New Year holiday? Ours was quiet, we had decent snow flurries and I built a fire in the backyard for a bit. It was nice warming by the fire as the snow fell.

Bill and I then had pizza and took in a movie before we watched the ball drop in Times Square. I had to work Friday, but remotely. Upon wrapping up for the day, we packed up our snowmobile gear and here we are. I’m super happy with the timing. I’m on a new project at work that has a pretty aggressive deadline so I hope working weekends aren’t too often in my future. I’m glad we are getting in at least one snowmobile trip before we get started.
Larry has the house to himself for the weekend but I have one of those Petcube cameras, so I can peek in and talk to him. The camera also has a red laser dot you control via the app, so I can play with him remotely too, if he’s feeling it. I also told him no parties.

Well, we’re going to head out! Our first stop is in Beulah, Michigan, on Crystal Lake. It’s our usual “shakedown” run, with it being the first time out this season. It’s a familiar route, we know where the trailheads, gas stations and restaurants are. We’ll visit the Ursa Major Bistro, a really cool coffee shop for breakfast upon arrival. I’ll post a recap of our weekend with hopefully good pics and video.
Have a wonderful Saturday and thank you to Natalie for carrying the Weekend Coffee Share torch into 2026! Head on over to her blog and visit other bloggers in the comments.

I love the idea of sitting in the snow, warming my toes by an open fire. Have a wonderful holiday.
I do too.. Probably one of my favorite parts of the season.
I just commented to my husband the other day that I’m surprised by the lack of snowmobiles this year. There have been some lovely days for a ride.
Hope you’re having a lovely weekend.
Where we went, there were practically no crowds at all.. I think every one went north to the Upper Peninsula – they got FEET of snow.
I hope your winter vacation is fabulous! Coffee always taste better outside 🙂
Thank you! It does.. I love coffee on the patio..
