Daily Gratitude Practice 2026 – 1/1/26

Happy New Year!  This is a start of a new gratitude practice that will take place on my blog.  I am joining my dear blogger friend Maria in posting daily gratitude. It’s becoming more and more necessary to seek out and look for the good things in this world, or make it a point to notice it, every day.  It can be anything you acknowledge – a moment, a view, a thought, something more tangible, anything.  Post a word, a paragraph, or a photo.

Join us, if you wish, and tag your posts #DailyGratitudePractice2026.

It’s New Years Day!  I hope you all had a peaceful holiday.  Last night, for New Year’s Eve, I built a fire in the backyard as the snow fell from the sky. I hadn’t looked at the forecast so I didn’t know we were in for any precipitation. It reminded me of a walk in the woods I took last winter, when it also unexpectedly began to snow. The only way I can describe it, is magical.  It was a really cool moment.

I enjoyed relaxing by the fire and feeling the heat of the flames.  I gave thanks for so much. A decent year, our health, our home, our jobs, family and friends.  I went in after a while, Bill and I had dinner and a movie, and later that night, the sky had cleared and the moon was out, almost full.

I hope you had a wonderful NYE and wishing  you the best 2026!

    • Thank you for doing this! I keep a written gratitude journal too, but I love this idea.
