Daily Gratitude Practice 2026 – 1/2/26

Daily Gratitude Practice 2026 – 1/2/26

At the beginning of Yule, a dear friend gifted myself and some others a glass jar and 12 strips of paper.

The idea was to write 12 intentions for the coming year, fold them up, and randomly burn one per day for all the days of Yule. The last one you read, and that is the one intention to focus on.

Mine was to minimize or downsize my belongings. On this second day of Daily Gratitude Practice, I can say that I’m thankful to be in this situation. What a blessing it is to have much that I can work on parting with, than to have little.

It’s difficult at times, to let things go, but I also believe that space creates opportunity. It’s freeing to own less, and I look forward to making 2026 a bit lighter.

What are you grateful for today?

  1. Ah! What a wonderful intention to focus on in the year ahead! Your perspective is spot on: How lucky to have enough to give away and still be in abundance ❤

Wishing you a glorious year ahead, Kathleen!

  2. A great way to decide what to focus on in the year ahead. Today I am grateful for having access to wonderful food stores.

  3. Letting go of things that no longer serves a purpose is liberating! Today I am grateful for our beautiful library that I am going to pay a visit as soon as they open 🙂

  4. What a fun gift! My son gave me a similar jar, but he had already written positive messages on the papers inside. The purpose is to open and read one (return it to the jar) and feel happy and uplifted.
