If We Were Having Coffee – 5/7/17

Perkins Coffee Mug

Good Morning! Thanks for stopping by, it’s great to see you!  It’s not quite warm enough for the patio yet, so we’ll make ourselves at home here..

Ugh, SO tired of this rain we’ve had! It started last weekend when we dealt with nonstop wind coming off Lake Erie in the trailer and it’s been gray and wet ever since.  Really the only thing I truly hate about living in this region. But! Friday night we caught a glimpse of a sunset!

And we saw the sky on Saturday morning! OMG!

I woke up at 6:30am yesterday and dove into this book I’ve been wanting to read. At 10:30am, Bill emerged from our room and I realized I’d been reading for 4 HOURS!  Glorious!

This is really a good read. If any of you are familiar/local to Wayne County, Michigan, this may interest you. It’s about a patient at Eloise, a group of (former) buildings which included a psychiatric hospital, TB hospital and poor house. Only several buildings from the complex remain today.  What are you reading currently?

I also took some time Saturday to get acclimated to using my new Hero Session!  I can’t wait to start using this little dude! I’d like to spend some more time with it today.

With an Amazon gift card from my brother and his family, I now have six more used books coming!  (rubbing hands together)  I’ll post the collection when it arrives. The tough part will be determine which ones to part with once I’m finished. Or maybe I’ll just get another bookcase. 🙂

Today we’re off to Camping World today for a few minor upgrades to the trailer.  Yay!  It’s the little things. And it looks like clear skies again today, so that always helps, although chilly.  We’re fortunate to have one rather close by, and also IKEA!

How was your week?

  1. Definitely adding that book to my “To Read” list, thanks for the recommendation. I’ve been using the BookBub daily mailing list to rack up tons of free/sale books on my Kindle, AND I recently won a novel from a GoodReads giveaway; yippee!

I don’t know if I’ve ever had that much time to myself. Maybe I’ll start a new routine.. 🙂

  4. I’ve added that book to my coffers of reading! What I want to know about is the Hero! Is it your first? Do you use it in place of a camera? How exactly do YOU use it? Enquiring minds want to know! Maybe you can enlighten us with a post about it!

Aw, thank you for your interest! It’s our second, now my husband and I each have our own. I’ll use it on my motorcycle, snowmobile, and now my kayak! My life jacket has a built-in clip to hold the GoPro.. Hmmmm, perhaps a post is in order. I always struggle with what I think will be interesting and if it’s something folks don’t already know about.. 🙂
