Perkins Coffee Mug

If we were having coffee, I’d start by asking you how you are, because everyone knows I’d rather listen than talk.  I love to hear how my friends are doing and it’s so, so much better in person to catch up.  I repeatedly miss phone calls because I always leave my phone on mute from the workday!

Wow, this is hard, I’m not used to talking about myself.  You don’t realize how private you are until you begin blogging and discover just how much you’d rather not share.

I’d tell you that work is going well, although super busy  right now and never lacking challenge.  It’s all good though.

I’d mention how tired I am all the time and that turning 43 isn’t really at all different from last year, since I felt old then!  Haha..  A co-worker gave me some desk exercises though, and that’s been helping with aches and pains.

If we were having coffee, I suppose the topics would depend on who I’m with, some of you I catch  up with frequently, others not so much.

Have I been out lately taking photos?  Never as much as I want to and it’s apparent on my blog. I really am bored with my surroundings.  Trying to make interesting out of the mundane is so much harder than I thought! I long to travel and find new and interesting things.  Who doesn’t?

What trips are we planning this year?   We’re asked that all the time. 🙂  South Dakota for sure.  Several new campgrounds over the summer.  Motorcycle day trips with friends.

Why, yes, I’d love more coffee, thank you!  Yes, it’s a mug from Perkins, and no I didn’t steal it, I bought it.  True story!  We frequent the Spearfish Perkins quite often while in SD and the mugs were the perfect memory.  Haha. The cashier didn’t even think I was a weirdo.  At least it seemed.

If we were having coffee, I’d tell you I’m quite excited to start shopping for a kayak.  I may end up doing it more often, locally, but all the lakes we camp near prompted me to go looking for one, just to go tool around on the water during camping weekends.  I also found a cool life vest with a built in clip for my GoPro!   There are also moonlight paddles coming up this year, which sound incredibly exciting and terrifying at the same time.

I’d tell you that I just heard from my sister that Stagecoach Stop has reopened to the public!  Can’t wait to take my mom-in-law there again soon, it was her favorite.

Our next camping weekend will be at a newly discovered park, Lake of Dreams in Merrill, MI. We’re going up with friends for their Wine and Beer Tasting event, one of many very fun sounding events on their calendar. I can’t wait. I’m thinking White Merlot, one of my faves that not many people know of.  And probably an assortment of craft beers. I’ll also be attempting baking bannock bread over the fire in a cast iron skillet, a new series I’m starting on my blog. We have many excursions planned this year, and I plan to try a new campsite recipe each trip.

Well, I must be on my way, I brought some work home to catch up on.

Until next Saturday!

    1. Thanks for coming by! Yes, there is much more I could write about, but it’s not all for public consumption.. 🙂 And I’m critical about what I share, I feel like most of my life is not interesting enough!

  1. A new campsite recipe each trip sounds like a wonderful plan – and moonlight paddles sound delightful. Wishing you lots of fun adventures, and plenty of opportunities to take photos.

  2. I want to go to Florida this summer and fly to the Atlantis hotel and stay one night. I bought some snorkeling gear to go snorkeling. Yellow fins, face mask and air tube thing. I also bought a yellow vest. I love to go camping. I might hit Oregon, there are lots of campgrounds. My husband wants to go to golds beach and look for gold.

    1. Hi Connie! Thanks for reading. Atlantis out by the Bahamas? I took a cruise out to Nassau once with my folks, it was awesome! We could see Atlantis from the island. I’d love to try snorkeling, scuba diving was always on my bucket list, too.. Golds Beach sounds like a fun time!

  3. I love your 2nd paragraph 🙂 And motorcycling, camping, kayaking … sounds fascinating to me. It’s terribly hot in Malaysia where I come from to do a lot of outdoorsy stuff

    1. Hi Marilyn! How I love warm weather.. But I’m sure Florida and Arizona warm don’t quite compare to Malaysia! 🙂 Thanks for reading!

  4. Your camping trips sound like fun. I have camp most on my life usuall in the Northwest later we camp in the southwest,we did take one trip to Texas.
There is Stagecoach in Ada county. Just east of Boise. My Mother remembers as it was there as she grewcup. It is one the places early people in the area started to Idaho mines.😆
