Day 14 of NaBloPoMo and again I stray from the prompt. I’m such a rebel.

Ever play with a pendulum? I have and did again this evening, just for grins. There are several websites about using a pendulum to determine answers, and I’m also reading a book on divination that I’ve picked up and put down about a million times. I had some actual serious questions after today so I thought, what the heck, why not experiment? I used a necklace that a dear friend made.

You can use a necklace, a crystal, something pointed is supposed to be best. You can buy them or make them. They should be about six inches long. But this worked fine. Hold the chain and steady your arm on a desk or table, keeping the pendulum still. Say, “Show me yes.” The pendulum will swing either back and forth (left to right) or in a circle. Then say “Show me no.” It should swing the opposite way. You do this to determine how it will communicate before beginning to ask questions. When I did it, I got in a circle for yes and back and forth for no.

I asked it baseline questions that I knew the answer to, to test it, and then moved on to the things I wanted to know about. I got some interesting results but I do keep reality in mind when doing this. 🙂 Fun to play around with, like a Magic 8 Ball. Take it with a grain of salt. It will be neat, though, to journal the questions and answers and see how things play out in the years to come.

Have you used a pendulum? What were your experiences?
