What could be better than hot cider by the campfire? That’s what inspired this photo. I think this was taken at Hayes State Park, one of our favorite campgrounds, several years ago in the fall.

Mmm, getting ready to make hobo pies. My favorite right now is pumpkin pie filling and cream cheese, especially in the fall.  Add cream cheese to any pie filling, and it’s like a coffee cake!

Can’t remember what kind of hobo pie this was when I made it. I was just happy it came out perfectly toasted!

I don’t what it is about a campfire, I’ve loved them all my life and could have one every night. Others have mentioned that if they had one at home all the time, it wouldn’t be as special when they go camping. Pretty sure that would not happen with me!  Dinner last night was cooked over our fire.

These are onion bombs cooking on the coals. They turned out pretty good!

I hope if you enjoy fires, they’re allowed in your town.  We’re fortunate to have them without any issues as long as they’re reasonable.

How about you?
