Welcome back to the Rewind and thanks for stopping by! Soon I’ll be back to work and able to tackle the yard cleanup (have I mentioned how it drives me crazy? Only a few thousand times? OK..) Our mature silver maples are the last to drop their leaves in the Fall so we are usually out raking and bagging well into the frigid temps. With the wind, there are always stray leaves that remain and end up buried in snow. When the snow melts, our front and back yards reveal patches of flattened, wet, dead leaves. Ugh.

Ugh. Enough about winter! Planning anything fun once the weather breaks? This Sunday we turn our clocks forward an hour (if you live in a region that participates in Daylight Savings Time) and before we know it, it will still be light out at 9pm! I’m looking forward to the first campfire of the year also, which I’m planning for the night of March 20th, the vernal equinox. Let’s hope the weather cooperates!

Last weekend we set out for Tractor Supply for seeds I found my croci poking through!

I’ll be doubling my garden this year after last year’s trial run, and decided to go with the same crops, basil, cilantro, sage and jalapenos. I’m waiting for my one sage plant to re-emerge as it’s a perennial, then I’ll plant a full row of sage along with it. Armed with a full roll of wildlife netting, I may even have a garden this year!

I met up with a dear friend of mine for Taco Tuesday and she surprised me with these gorgeous tulips! I have red, yellow and purple planted around my backyard maple tree.. I’ll have to find a spot for these beauties this fall.

Well, I should get to sowing my seeds so I can put my seedlings in on time. Below is a song from one of my all time faves, George Winston, of the album Winter into Spring.

GRATITUDE
Bill fixed our leaky roof this past week and the leak was minor. I’m so grateful (1) it wasn’t a major repair, (2) my awesome husband is extremely handy and (3) he is now safe and down from the roof.

I hope your week is happy, safe and dry!

  1. Happy Rewind ~ I also have those wet dead leaves all over my yard and don’t even have a tree! It was so nice meeting you for Taco Tuesday and so glad you don’t already have pink 🌷 tulips! Enjoy your pretty flowers as they pop up all over your yard ~ that’s my favorite part about spring. Have a great day it’s pretty with sunshine ☀️
