Halloween is upon us, returning from its trip around the sun. Our last Halloween campout is this weekend, but the weather is threatening to be scarier than anything! Mid 40s and rain. Come on, Mother Nature, I have to get rid of this candy!

My unofficial Halloween “film festival” continued this week with Dracula: The Prince of Darkness, Curse of Chucky and Hocus Pocus. We still have yet to carve pumpkins, perhaps that will be an indoor activity this weekend as we dodge the rain.

Aldi’s didn’t disappoint this season either, as I was able to find their Transylvania Romanian Cave Cheese, which proved to be quite delish!

In my literary world, the good news is I finished The Lottery and it was JUST as creepy as the movie! The bad news is, I had to force myself to read the 25 preceding stories to get to it. None of them made. Any. Fricking. Sense. IMHO. But, I do want to read, We Have Always Lived in the Castle, Shirley Jackson’s last published book. Plot sounds kind of creepy.  Next up is The Woman in Black, by Susan Hill.

Okay, how many of you have that Barry Manilow song in your head now? Be honest! Hahaha.. You’re welcome.  (..the snow begins to fly…above the smoky roofs…)  And for those of you who have no idea what I’m talking about..  Here you go..

Yes, I’m a closet Barry Manilow fan.. I love the piano..

GRATITUDE
Tuesday night our power went out at 1am. I knew it because the fan stopped (we have to have white noise). Ugh. I waited, hoped it wouldn’t be out for too long and luckily 30 minutes later it was back on. Yes!

    1. Ha! No way! I thought I’d totally catch flak for being a Fanilow! The cheese is more on the sharper side, hard and crumbly. But not too strong, like stinky socks. I liked it. 🙂

    1. Haha! I knew what you meant and I always got them mixed up! Funny story – I was at my produce market and they had sweet tamarind. I sang “Sweet Tamariiiiiiind…bomp, bomp, bomp…..” the rest of my shopping trip! LOL
